Problem

How can I easily check if there is an upgrade for the Import Utility product available?

Solution

Manually Checking for an Update
To perform a check for an upgrade at any time follow these steps:

Open the Import Utility application.
Click on the 'Actions' option on the Lotus Notes menu bar.
Select the 'Upgrade' option then select 'Check for Update'

The application will immediately connect to the AGECOM website to determine if a newer version than the one you're currently using is available. If an update is found you will be provided with a choice to immediately download the update or open the product webpage.

If the application is unable to connect to the AGECOM website and you access the Internet via a proxy server you should enter the proxy server settings into the Import Utility application. To do this follow these steps:

Open the Import Utility application.
Click on the 'Configuration Settings' option which appears under the 'Administration' heading on the left-hand navigation menu of the application.
Click on the 'Automatic Updates' tab on the Configuration Settings and enter the proxy server details in the Proxy Server Settings section.
Save and close the Configuration Settings form.
After changing the proxy server settings try perfoming another check for an update.

Setting Up Automatic Checking for Updates
Automatic checking for updates can be enabled through the Configuration Settings document.

Open the Import Utility application.
Click on the 'Configuration Settings' option which appears under the 'Administration' heading on the left-hand navigation menu of the application.
Click on the 'Automatic Updates' tab on the Configuration Settings and specify your preferences in the Automatic Updates section.
Save and close the Configuration Settings form.

Once you've downloaded the update of the application you should read through the Upgrade Guide contained within the downloaded file. The guide covers the steps you should follow to ensure the correct upgrade of your existing application.

How can I check which version I'm currently using?
To check the version number of your product, open it in the Lotus Notes client then select 'Help' from the Lotus Notes menu and then 'About this Application'. The version number is displayed below the application title at the top of the page.
