 General Information
My installed copy of the export utility is unable to successfully download the Java library files required for PDF, Microsoft Word, or Microsoft Excel exports. Can I manually download and install the libraries?
 Solution
Java library files can be manually downloaded from the AGECOM website and installed into the Export Utility. These instructions apply to Release 6.x of the Export Utility. Please click the following link for instructions for release 5.x of the Export Utility ...
.
Step 1 - Download the Java library files
Click the appropriate link below to download the java libraries applicable to the version of Notes you will using to export Lotus Notes documents to PDF, Microsoft Word, or Microsoft Excel.
Java Library files for Notes / Domino release 9.0.1 (with minimum of Fix Pack 8) or later
I am using version 6.77 of the Export Utility or later
Java Library files for Notes / Domino release 8.x or later
I am using version 6.71 of the Export Utility or later
I am using version 6.70 of the Export Utility or earlier
Java Library files for Notes / Domino release 7.x
All versions of the Export Utility
Step 2 - Extract all files to a folder on your computer
All files in the downloaded zip file should be extracted to a folder on your computer. If you have downloaded the Java library files for both versions of Notes they should be extracted to separate folders. The file should be extracted to a temporary folder and NOT to any of the Notes or Domino folders or subfolders.
Step 3 - Import the Java Libraries into the Export Utility
Open the Export Utility application. After it has opened select 'Actions' from the Notes menu then select 'Tools' and then 'Java Libraries - Import'. You will be required to select the location of the 'filelist.txt' file which should be found in the folder where you extracted the downloaded java library files to. You will also be required to indicate which version of Notes the java library files are applicable to.
The success or failure of the importing of the Java libraries will be advised.
Step 4 - Install the Java Libraries
If you haven't already done so you can now install the Java libraries to your Notes client or Domino server so that you can perform exports to PDF, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. To install the libraries open the Export Utility then select 'Actions' from the Notes menu, then select 'Install' and then 'Java Libraries - Install'.
If you have previously installed the Java libraries and are now installing updated libraries you will first need to uninstall the older libraries. This is because the newer libraries cannot be installed while the existing libraries are in use. To uninstall existing libraries open the Export Utility then select 'Actions' from the Notes menu, then select 'Install' and then 'Java Libraries - Uninstall'. The Notes Client may need to be restarted during the un-installation process if existing files are locked and cannot be immediately removed.
Once the Java libraries have been installed restart your Notes Client to activate them.
Step 5 - Update the Configuration Settings
The method which the Export Utility should use for exporting Notes documents to Excel files must be specified in the Configuration Settings of the application. Open the Export Utility and select the Configuration Settings option from the left-hand navigation pane. Select the MS-Office Options tab then specify the MS-Excel Conversion option - it should be set to 'Use Apache POI'.
That's it! You should now be able to perform exports of Notes documents to PDF, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
Please note: Exporting to Microsoft Excel using the Java libraries is optional. You can choose to use the Microsoft Excel application (if installed) or the Java libraries. Please refer to the Export Utility Installation and User Guides for more information.
