 General Information
The Debugging feature of the Agent Monitor application provides detailed information to assist troubleshooting problems.
 Solution
If you are experiencing problems with the scanning of agents the debugging feature of the Agent Monitor application can provide some valuable information to assist with troubleshooting. The debugging feature writes detailed information about the scanning processes to the Debug Logs view of the application which can be reviewed for clues as to why scans are not being performed as expected.
Enabling Debugging
To enable debugging follow these steps:
Open the application as you normally do.
Select the ‘
Scanning Profiles
’ option which appears under the ‘
Administration
’ heading on the left-hand navigation menu of the application.
Locate and open the scanning profile document for the server you’d like to enable debugging for.
Click on the ‘
General Options
’ tab.
Set the ‘
Debugging
’ option to ‘Enabled’.
Set the ‘
Debug Level
’ option for the amount debug information you’d like to be output. A level of Normal outputs basic debug information whereas the ‘Verbose’ level outputs the most detailed information.
The Agent Monitor application uses the Lotus API to retrieve some information for agents. To enable the output of debugging information for API calls click the ‘Advanced’ tab and set the ‘API Debugging’ option to ‘Enabled’. (Note: this option is applicable to version 4 or later of the Agent Monitor)
Save and Close the scanning profile document.
If you are performing the scanning of agents on a Domino server from your Lotus Notes client locate the scanning profile document for the Notes ID you are using to perform the scan and repeat the above steps for that profile.
After enabling debugging use the application as normal. You may receive reminders while using the application that debugging is enabled and if you want to disable it. You should not disable debugging but continue as normal.
Debugging slows down the performance of the application so the scanning may take a slightly longer time to run than normal.
Viewing Debug Logs
After the agent scan has run select the 'Debug Logs' option which appears under the 'Logs' heading on the left-hand navigation menu of the application. Review the most recent debug log documents and see if there are any clues as to why the scan is not running as expected. If you would like the AGECOM Support team to review your debug logs select one or more log documents in the view then click the 'Send selected logs to AGECOM Support' button at the top of the view.
Disabling Debugging
After the debugging information collection has been completed you should disable debugging. To disable debugging simply reverse the steps previously performed when enabling debugging.
