 Problem

You receive the following error when importing data from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet:

Design element: Import Script Library
Error number: 207
Description: Automation object error
Import Format: Excel

 Solution

Error reading cell value
There is a known problem reading some cells in Excel spreadsheets. A fix for this was implemented in version 3.56 of the Import Utility. If you are using an older release of the Import Utility you should upgrade to the latest version. To check the version you are using open the Import Utility then click on 'Help' on the Lotus Notes menu then select 'About this Application' (or 'About this Database' if you are using Lotus Notes release 7.x or earlier).

For information on checking for and downloading updates please refer to the following support document ... Database 'AGECOM Knowledge Base', View '1. Search', Document 'Checking for an update of the Import Utility'.

Excel hasn't been activated
Ensure the Microsoft Office / Excel applications have been activated otherwise Excel will fail to load successfully.

Older Excel File Format or Invalid File Extension
Some customers have reported Excel 2013 fails to load successfully when attempting to import data from an older Excel file saved with .xls file extension. If you encounter this particular issue ensure the Excel file you are attempting to import data from has been saved in the newer .xlsx format.

Another known issue is when an Excel file has been saved in the newer format but has been given a .xls file extension. Excel will not open these files. You should ensure all newer Excel files are saved with a .xlsx extension.
